I agree with you that AMD should make more of an effort (or a better effort) in marketing and consumer relationships. (although as you point out in other contexts AMD's resources are not infinite).

If by focusing on servers you mean accepting a setback in desktop market share if it frees up the resources to make AMD sucessful on servers then I agree. If you mean dropping out of the desktop market complelty I think it would be suicide for AMD.

Or if not suicide it would at least mean AMD would have to shrink a lot.
