Long haired dogs get dirtier, in general -- unless they are like augieboo, who is a bit of a neat freak

Bad dog smells has a lot to do with allergies that affect the skin. Fleas, ticks, food, grass, my dog has it all. You haven't smelled bad when he's scratching like mad.
