Two seats, two fares. Even if it is two Southwest seats.

If they want to be completely fair everybody should pay by the pound.

Skinny people will practically fly for free. Large frame people like 280 pounder Gov. Jesse Ventura simply hand over their wallet to the stewardess as they board.

Invest in companies that manufacture water pills. Sales are bound to skyrocket.

Late reply:

Yes you are buying real estate. If they slot for 45 passengers, then they price the tickets accordingly. Also, if you are a person of "size", physics demands more fuel be spent to get from point A to point B. I am not attacking any person or group here, just stating facts. I weigh about 200 lb. If I weighed 350, it would take much more fuel to move me around, and I would most likely need 2 seats. I do think they should provide a few larger seats and charge more for them, depending on physical and numerical factors. Airlines are really in the shipping industry and anything larger and heavier costs more to ship. There is a human factor, I realize, but, well, I think I am about to digress, so I'll just quit.

Stay in the Black! jimS

If you need more than one seat you should pay for it. This nonesense about the average american is now over weight and the airlines should provide larger seats to accomodate someone who doesn't care and doesn't control what they put in their "mouth hole" is laughable. At least in the plane you can lift up the arm rest. In the movie theatre if you don't fit you have to stand. In the restrooms they don't provide a toilet paper extension holder to wipe your fat arse cause you hand can't reach you a-hole! I'm an x-ray tech and I once had an oversized patient who just had a Barium Enema exam and was in the bathroom. She called out to me and when I went in I asked her what she wanted. She said "Can you wipe my arse cause I can't reach with my hand. I asked her what she did at home and she told me her husband wipes her! Geez! If you can't manage your own body why should anyone have to help you manage your airflights. JMHO! ;>)))!!! BTW, I'm overweight!
