But the mainstream media is covered in detail at mediawhoresonline.com Among the reasons they may be less than willing to investigate this is 1) corporate sponsors demand scrubbed and anti-inflammatory "news". 2) self-censorship in order for "news" reporters to maintain relationships with sources. Cf. the love-in between Don Rumsfeld and a coterie of softball questioners in the DoD press room. 3) the "news" cycle has moved on to more important things like Chandra Levy, Robert Blake and other hard news.
