Afraid so...as long as the $5 billion (impaired?)goodwill remains on the balance sheet and thereby is not included in eps calculations, and as long as net PPE continues to rise against flat or declining revenues, thereby deferring expenditures which would otherwise reduce calculated eps...(not to mention the historic accounting of capital gains which were included in eps calculations to the tune of $5 billion in FY01)...

INTC's creative accounting monster of the past 2 years is about to be feed on iots creator, unless pc market turnaround is imminent...The $5 billion FY00 capital gains cushion was devoured in FY01, much of the $5 billion in goodwill is probably impaired, and net PPE has risen by $3 billion/year over the past 2 years during which time revenues have declined $3 billion...No more accounting hiding places for INTC's deteriorating performance in the post Athy intro. period...INTC's Balnce Sheet is now bloated with "impairments" to the point of bursting red all over the Income Statement...
