All about options: A few quick studies.

All option prices are bids (asks will be higher)

Stock---Trading---Strike---Jul----Oct----Jan

Placer D 19.15----20.00---0.80-- 1.80-- 2.45

Apex Sil 14.55----15.00---0.80-- 1.80-- 2.55

Goldcorp 15.65----16.00---1.15-- 2.35-- 3.00

Goldcorp 15.65----18.00---0.65-- 1.65-- 2.30

Nortel N 2.60------2.50---0.31-- 0.55-- 0.80

I couldn't find any issues whose options extended past Jan 2003, so don't know how longer term time factor attenuates the prices we see here.

The closest examples to PAA are probably T.G and SIL, but I think we can conservatively price those 12$ options at greater than 5$ each, maybe 8-9$, which makes the takeout price much more attractive.

Anybody got experience with long expiry options?
