My family, or, at least, my mother, was very pro- civil rights. I grew up in an integrated area, and had a lot of black friends, including a black girlfriend. One of my sisters- in- law is black, and therefore I have a couple of "black" nieces and a "black" nephew. I get very fidgety when I hear about an instance of rudeness like that, as if I am looking for someone to bitch- slap.........
