I don't know about that, lots of cities population of 75-100k have stayed housing price flat. I thnk it has a lot to do with amount of buildable acres. In Metro Denver area growth is limited to the west by the mountains. In much of CA it is limited to the east by mountains & west by ocean. Fort Worth Dallas have lesser degree of geographic restrictions & they also have a far lesser degree of broad based property price inflation! This is part of the Reno problem mountain limited growth to the west so hot & dry nothing much can live to the east. Houston Tx has had a less diverse tech. based job base than DFW but seems to have "enjoyed" greater house price inflation - geographic growth limit water.
