what is with this level on the comp
Although it looks like it's consolidating and heading lower, the VIX has me buying. In the past VIX +30 has proven to be a good point to start deploying. I'm long 1/2 position of NVDA and feel less anxiety than I would if I were long gold here. I never have hafd the patience to wait for that hanging breaking ball so essentially I'm simply going with what has worked for me in the past. Although "the book" would contend to stay trend friendly and short until the beast reveals itself I always seem to swing a bit early, but I've always preferred the fast ball anywho. Or is it that eventually one gets bored into participating?

jjstingray, I'm not sure if "defended" is the right word
but I think I know what you mean if you're thinking about the September low not having been breached yet.

Let me rephrase your question and then give my answer it:
Q: Why has the NDX violated the 9/01 low but not the COMP?
A: There are a great many mid, small and microcaps in the COMP that are holding it up as they have held onto much of their gains so far this year.
