The Fear Factor:
The general idea is this. I already scan the WSJ, Barron's and periodical business mags according to a pre-existing format. I scan certain segments of CNBC and other CATV business shows as well. As I review these sources, I look for references to actual or feared terrorism directed against the U.S. and its citizens and give a rating between +3 to -3, with -3 being the most threatening/frightening. So far, there seems to be a correlation between the intensity of the terrorism worry and the stock indices.
