Thanks for your post Gary. I know what you mean about Washington meddling in things. In fact it was Washington meddling with the 1994 decision by FASB which recommended expensing of stock option compensation that got us to where we are today Now we have a growing problem where it looks like it could be very painful to reverse the trend to a more favorable direction. One thing about the Levin/McCain bill---it looks rather flexible in that it does not even require companies to expense stock option compensation, but instead just requires consistency between reporting to the IRS and reporting to shareholders. Perhaps this small step would not be too painful to take.
