When I was teaching in a high school, we had a case of a girl who gave birth on the dorm. She had persuaded herself that she had miscarried. She had basically starved herself to keep her weight down. She was feeling terrible cramps, persuaded herself it was just a bad period, went into the bathroom, where two other girls found her being sick and starting to give birth. They were unable to call a teacher, because she was threatening to kill the baby when she realized what was happening, so they assisted in the birth and kept the baby, a girl, from her, then went to get a teacher. The baby, amazingly, was fine. She took a term off from school, got serious counseling, and the last I knew was living with her parents who helped attend the baby and was doing well in school. These situations can have positive outcomes if there is somebody there to help out.

What I find amazing in your case is that she could give birth in a dormitory bathroom and nobody would notice.
