Jeez I'm not a hardware guy ya know, but weren't we speaking of the merced aka the itanium2 not the Itanium, and you don't happen to have that COST per transaction thingy that the Transactions Processing Performance Council publishes weekly

do you?

And as far as comparisons to Xeon for speed, thingy, and again, I'm not a hardware guy, but if memory serves, my 8088 ran Lotus about 200 times faster than my system 36, and about 20 times faster than a 360.

And as far as comparisons to the Alpha, gee, I guess Craig could pop in to the Alpha cubicle at the office AND ASK THEM. It's all in the family now, so your pointing that out over and over is like pointing out that a P4 1.8 runs faster than a P4 1.7, if you catch my drift.

The Sun has 8 processors to the Itanium's 4, but processes 2.5 to 3 times as many transactions.

Yep, the Merced core has some issues... but we all knew that. Why are you dredging up old scores at this point?

How does the I2 do on the same benchmark?
