will likely need capitulation before we get a bounce that will last for a while and looking for 40 plus on Vix along with hard selling in the indices for a tradable bottom.

I'm looking for the bounce near these Sox 350, Compx 1400, Spx 950, IIX 80-75

things are deceptive though. I wish I had some bear mkt experience to judge individual issues. For example my broker took a position in cisco earlier this year on the premise that cisco is gaining share etc. that was at 14 and the naz was... maybe 1700s? Certainly much higher than it is now. Cisco closed at 14 today I see, its gone nowhere in this decline. Same with msft, amat a few others. Software has been pummelled even the strong issues this year, nothing left in software and so much consolidation that even a hint of recovery and everybody left is going to pushing out business to deal with growth.
