Dear Thread: On a brighter note, Anandtech ( anandtech.com ) has a database server comparison between Athlon MP 2100+ and P4 Xeon 2.4GHz. Needless to say, the Xeon gets kicked in all three tests based on performance/price and absolutely kicked in the hardest test, the Forums database. Pete

Tim, Re: "When do you think AMD will start selling Bartons?" I've yet to hear of Barton specifically featured in any recent business updates from AMD. Not even a hint. IMO, Barton hype should exceed Clawhammer hype at this point, or buyers will be uninterested. If this continues, AMD could have a big problem failing to meet hyped up K8 demand as they ramp up Hammer, while simultaneously failing to get rid of their excess K7 chips that nobody wants. wbmw
