If Israel is to remain intact as a distinctly Jewish state then a true and open democracy (to Arabs and Jews alike) might well destroy Israel in the Middle East.

Only if you give the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza the right to vote. Personally I think its unlikely that they will get the right to vote for a long time. Either they will suffer occupation, or they will live under Palestinian dictators.

It isn't by chance Israel is lacking an official written Constitution or Bill of Rights to guarantee her citizens the full freedom and protection of a democracy.

There is no "Conspiracy." Israel went with a "European style" Parliament. You may remember that Sharon was asking for a "Million" Jews to immigrate when he was last here. Australia would be an Asian Nation today if they had not had strict immigration laws, and this was deliberate.
