Dipy,

I, too, appreciate your comments on the India/Pakistan situation. You bring a perspective that is worth considering.

In considering the comments of the other members, I think it would be well to remember that probably a lot of them are personally involved in this subject as I am sure that if they are in the US they still have many family members still in India and that they themselves probably grew up there. Further still, they may have relatives or friends who were casualties of the past hostilities with Pakistan.
It is as much as if you had an older brother who was killed in Vietnam. So I think you have to keep this in mind.

Additionally, I think everyone on this forum is astute enough to make their own judgments on where commentators are coming from and it is not necessary for any of us to point this out to anyone else. I am just saying it is possible to disagree with someone and argue very hard for a position without getting personal about it. We ALL feel passionate about our positions. In JPR's case, I believe he lost a son in the world trade center bombing so he is not feeling kindly toward any sort of terrorist activity. So if you can try to keep the big picture in mind as we try to solve the India/Pakistan crisis for the diplomats I am sure everyone here will appreciate it.

Thanks.

Bill
