They used suicide bombers in Algeria ? No, of course not. This suicide bomber business is religious sect brainwashing by people looking to gain personal power. (Hamas leaders never send their own family members to wear the belt.) Obviously, then we don't have anything to talk about. You clearly didn't read this article before you posted this response.

No suicide bombs in Algeria independence time, nor since, to my knowledge. Before independence, what the would be statesmen troops were using, was a bicycle stuffed with explosives, explosing on a crowded marketplace or in front of a café at anisette time ; and if Arabs kids were dieing too, it helped the 'cause' on the hate level. It may sound surprising, but it was quite acceptable, if we compare it to the Pals. After having lived among Arabs (North West Africa) in the sixties and early seventies, let me state that I have not seen them anytime indulging in any for of sadism, even mild, and I did see some pretty harsh situations. As this surprised me, I tried to analyse it, and came on the conclusion that it is a positive fallout of Islam and the Arab civilisation, mainly due to their strong belief in "mektoub", "it is written", so there is no point displeasing Allah with some moral misconduct, because he sees it all. It was a dirty war on both sides. It may be funny to remember that that first hijacking was done by the French air force 1956 : Ben Bella(the would be leader) DC3 enroute from Morocco to Tunisia, with the Balears stop for Refueling, was intercepted above the Med and forced to follow two fighters into Algeria where he was taken in custody that turned out to be a political mistake, according to most. Strange war too, where the French Generals in Algeria do a coup like in a banana republic and tell everybody that their parachutists are flying to Paris to take over the Elysée, and where de Gaulle takes to the radio for the "Double Duce of felon generals" remembered speech, and says he orders all airports around Paris to put trucks on all runways. During that night, it was not clear if the military would not take over, from Algeria. Then, they had some kind of a state like Bush wants for PA, and it collapsed before it started. I never trusted the French Army since, but I have other reasons too. There should not be any parallel to Is/PA conflict as the demographies were not the same, 5 million French ( Jews included), 30 million Arabs versus an equal number in the 5 million range, and the Israelis have no where to go.
