hmmmm, everyone may be retiring to a third world country. Maybe we should buy some property there now before that idea catches on :-) Is Belize considered Third World - ooh, you said Fourth World. That sounds scary. Only problem with that is what happens if you get sick ... they'll call in the local witch doctor with the leeches or something like that. Maybe you'll just see families here consolidating, (parents moving in with their kids and providing babysitting so they can work). More people living under one roof to save money. I would imagine lots of people's retirement plans have been dashed. My Step-father works for Ford, and guess where all their retirement money is ... Ford stock. And they just gave him early retirement so he needs to find a consulting job because they can't afford to retire right now. My husband is in the jewelry business and he said things have really picked up the last few months. I don't know what to think. I just keep waiting for Zeev to start unzipping his bear suit. When that happens I'll try and shake off this morbid fear I have now of tech stocks. I think red has become my very least favorite color of all time.
