long-gone, thanks.

Interesting and insightful into the administrative monster that you folks have in the US. It's hard to believe that the resources for a local fire in Colorado are delegated from National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.

Even harder to understand is how the Forest Service believes it make effective firebreaks in a forest which are less than 18 feet wide.

I suppose what will happen now is that a couple of billion dollars more of taxpayers' money will be allocated to the National Forest Fire Resource Security Fund (or whatever they will call it). Also, they are likely to pass some new laws to the effect that anyone seen striking a match within 100 miles of a forest can be shot on sight or arrested and held incommunicado for an indefinite period. Indeed, such a person is also likely to be blamed for "terrorism" against a Jewish home, school etc

Meanwhile, I see the case against the woman accused of starting the fire gets curiouser and curiouser.
