I agree - no way. And that was a hand ball this morning.

totti is an odd one... but there have been similar situations in the cup

ref has to make a split decision... it's hard to do as a ref and hard to take as a fan, but that's why the refs are great... they are willing to make such a decision knowing that part of the world will hate them whether they are right or wrong

fact of the matter is, the red card did not lose the game for them. They should not feel shame in losing, it happens. "get'em next time" should be all that matters now

btw... if i was IN the game with totti, i would have been pissed with both him and the ref.

ref for the card (i am always biased when i am involved in the game) i would have been in the refs face for that one too.

totti for not trying to stay up and possibly get the shot off. there may have been contact, but that type of fall only occurs when you want to go down. you would see a bit more scrambling if he tried to stay up.

this is what i am saying... whether he was tripped up or not, he certainly made every attempt to get the call instead of go for goal. does not change the call, or make anyone happy or sad, but it is my take on it. no ref likes it when they see it and now they have a carte blanche to start calling it.
