Your link doesn't mention helium.
I can't give a whole chemistry program in a link. The article mentions how alpha rays are given off as fission proceeds from one element to another. An alpha-ray is another term for two bound protons which are stripped of their electrons (ionized). They will soon enough collide with something and then pick up electrons from a neighboring atom in which case they are just helium atoms again.
