Yes, for certain. If "Christians" (and you do know that about 85% of America makes this claim), do not have a clear understanding of basic Scriptural truths, how many do you think clearly understand what will be happening during the end times? The anti-christ will easily fool the majority of people who claim to be "Christian" but are really simply "not Jewish" and "not Muslim", etc., and he will even easily fool "nominal" true Christians who have simply never studied the Scriptures at all.

The deception will be very convincing. Remember, it says, "if it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived".

It is coming quickly, I feel. I also think that the natural disasters will pick up dramatically very soon. Things like tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, and meteors will soon instill great fear (perhaps even more than terrorists). The world cannot ignore God forever.

Here is one of the latest "shakings":

I don't know your friend and am not judging him, but your post raised some questions in my mind. Is your friend born again? Can he be if he doesn't accept that Jesus is God? Has he asked Jesus into his heart? Read the beginning of the gospel of John to see the deity of Jesus. Read Romans 10:8-11 about being born again. We can believe all sorts of incorrect things and still be born again. But Jesus said we must be born again. Living a "Christian" life doesn't do it alone and I wonder how he feels about the born again experience.
