I don't remember that -- I do remember him pushing it when it was close to nothing and thinking -- maybe that's where it is going. Are you sure you are not confusing that with GSRSF or something else??

The oldest post I could find was Jan 18, 2000, when he implied he'd talked about it before but nevertheless was keen about it at 50 cents. Message 12601814 The post in April was after a spike, and I do think that encouraging folks to calm down and wait until a decline was good advice. Message 13279805 That said, nobody's perfect, do your own DD, etc. Earlie has very timely and topical things to say and is always worth reading, in my opinion. Neither he nor MB will be 100% perfect but you will be richer for reading what they have to say (and get numerous chuckles along the way). --Ben

John: Probably age, but don't recall mentioning the stock at that level. I did mention it as one I liked at CDN$0.15 a few months or so ago. Not doubting your word, as I may well have. It had a nice run up to CDN$3.00 or so a while back, and I know I bought it far too soon as it came back down (it has run up a couple of times and of course slopped right back down with all other golds). I do know that it has given me a couple of excellent rides. On the last one, I bought around a buck and sold at $2.71. If I did, and it was on the decline, chalk it up to my being "early" as usual. (g) As an aside, I am glad you made the point as such occurrences are one of the reasons that I am reluctant to mention stocks that I like. I get hundreds of PMs asking that I do, and even when I try to mention only the ones I think have the best risk/reward ratio, some of them still end up stinking the house out. Losing your own dough through your own stupidity is one thing, but causing someone who had faith in your skill to lose dough is quite another and much worse item.
