tip, So many tv shows are talking about the weak dollar that it could bounce. But if you look at a longer term chart, this has only been a puny pothole in its rise vs. other currencies. I think it has years to decline.

I've been mostly using futures to play the currencies, but the bond funds have helped. I didn't have any yen calls, but the funds had yen bonds, and that helped the past couple of days.

Another reason I think the buck is going to continue to swoon over the long haul is so many investors buying Treasury Bonds because they are "safe." Bear markets cause the most pain and go after hiding places like a flame thrower after enemies hiding in caves. <g>

I am sorry you are out but I think you had better get back in rather than sitting there watching. FCO and FAX pay very well for waiting. I am banking a very generous check every month from FAX. They may drop back to a better buying level than they are at now, but I wouldn't count on it. The underlying value (NAV) is creeping up steadily as the dollar falls. Trouble with FCO is that it is very thinly tradedand gets bounced around by market orders. FAX is a lot more liquid.

My next big transfer of money to the fixed-income non-dollar side, though, will be into Tice's Safe Harbor Fund. He has moved it almost entirely out of U.S. treasuries and into other currency bonds, plus it's now about 20% gold, from appreciation of that segmernt. It's no-load. When my FAX and FCO hit the holding period for LT capital gains, I may sell, if they are at a premium, and move it all into Safe Harbor.

BEGBX - This holds bonds of European governments, I've been
waiting for dividends from these, nothing comes... what rate
distribution should I expect? I thought it would yield 4% or so but nothing like that has come in almost a year now.
