Given the past as an example, a rebound of the $ should have been expected. In fact, many mainline analysts saw a summer rally in stocks in the cards. This kind of $ action doesn't help though. A friend of mine was looking into the possibility of having some estrong funds liquidated into gold. Turns out estrong says they don't have a gold fund. One can see how early in the cycle we are. (Also was told gold is too volatile while the said portfolio of friend has dropped 15% this year just being in a basket of stock funds.)
