Don't think I'm the guy to ask about that Mexico casino bill passing or failing, Richard, since I didn't even know there was a bill up for a vote. RE: increasing pressure on Mexican gold and silver production, I guess that depends upon how badly Mexican gov't wants "hard currency" for their natural resource throughput. Hurt the US $? The weakening US dollar is a policy decision by the Bush Administration over outgoing AG's dead body in my opinion. But, it was strong for a reason and that was to help the Euro get launched which it has been.

The reserve currency status of the Euro is just beginning, and so is the multi-year bear in the US$. I'm looking for a "collapse" to 93 before any meaningful "domestic" effort to support it really gets officially uttered. Remember too, that we had a lot of war bills to pay for...and foreign money is the only way to do it...so as interest rates rise, bonds cheapen and look more attractive...and foreign money buys more US$ denominated bonds when bonds cheapen, so this weak US$ policy will be with us for quite a spell.
