I will look into them.

I traded ADBE up until earnings and the tried
to short and go long at the same time the same amount of shares.
The theory was I would clear out of the position depending
on how earnings came out.
However, I discovered the "shorting rule" and was forced to clear out of the short position first. I did make a little on the bounce.

I haven't been able to guess how a stock will do before
earnings. I got lucky on AMZN last winter when I bought
when everyone was shorting. There was a buy signal right
before, but that was risky.

I think I may just short a small amount like 100 shares,
since the odds seem to be in favor of a downtrend after
earnings. I wonder if I did that, would I get
say 75% of the time make more than 20% return and if waited
to clear the longs only lose 25% of the time less than 10%, that would be a successful strategy.
