Kap,

As to point number 1, while Intel's communications businesses have yet to be successfull, I believe Intel should continue to try. This is a business that Intel could start taking some market share from TI, etc. Remember, unlike Intel's "other" ventures, this one is closest to what Intel does best.

As to point number 2, I am somewhat on the fence. While the first Itanium was DOA, I believe Intel should wait and see how McKinley fairs. If McKinley is, also, DOA; yes, it might be a good idea to scrap. If, however, McKinley is successfull, I would expect to see Intel's margins for IAG increase while squeezing Sun. Therefore, I am cautiously optimistic.

As to point number 3, I completely agree with you.
