I agree that a period of base building is a distinct possibility, with p/e coming down as earnings grow. Interest rates will probably rise quite a bit when the economy recovers, and that will help to keep a lid on stocks.

The long bear market has definitely demoralized investors and it remains to be seen if higher earnings lure in new money or wether people will be more cautious this time around.

All the same, even base building should produce a nice pop from these levels.
