Continuing our ongoing GE discussions. The defense of $34 didn't hold.

Employers RE now fessing up to a $500 M charge. Notice how this is after the majority of US Reinsurers fessed up last year after 9/11 (remember General Re @ Berkshire).

From the accounting conspiracy theory it was GE who provided the spark to turn the market on 9/21 when Imlett indicated GE would make its 2001 #'s. Just a coincidence Employers Re did not do a full reserve review and take this charge last year?
