"Re: That's a drop of $3.65B in 5 quarters.

Yes, and for that period Intel claimed net (after taxes) profits of $2.35 Billion - a discrepancy of $6 Billion! Is it any wonder that the street smells something funny with Intel's accounting?"

INTC's net PPE is up $6 billion in the last 2 years during which INTC's revenues have declined (compared to flat AMD net PPE and rising revenues ove this 2 year period...Had INTC's net PPE been flat over this 2 year period, eps calculations would've included an additional $5 billion in expenseand INTC would've been swimming in red by now...INTC's sitting with about $5 billion in goodwill, much of iy impaired, and, I'd guess, bloated net PPE in effort at avoiding red ink on the income statement...If INTC comes in under $6 billion in q2 revenues, either they'll have to bloat the BS (hehehe) even more or let the red ink flow...(Right now, it seems, INTC has used all 10 digits for plugging the holes and q2 is likely to spring a few more holes)
