... just went to Block Buster to get a couple of movies ... I have not been in one of their stores in at least 4 months ... previously, about 70% of new movies were available on tape, and now, it is maybe 25% ... everything else is DVD only ...

... I think this will be an interesting test of the American consumer as the movie makers and distributors are ganging up with the DVD player manufacturers to push the issue ... DVDs will eventually take over much as CD's pushed cassette tapes aside, but the difference, in my mind, is that the industry is pushing the consumer to buy DVD players at a time when the consumer is starting to tuck his/her wings in ... and the danger of a double-dip in he U.S. economy strengthens ...

... I understand Circuit City is trying to force the issue also ...

... it should be interesting to watch this play out ...
