Yes, AMD claimed that they expect to have $1 Billion in cash/equivalents at the end of Q2.
However, you are neglecting the fact that they started Q2 with $1,276,723,000 in cash/equivalents.

Ergo, AMD will have dissipated $276,723,000 from their cash/equivalents this past quarter - a 21% drop in only one quarter.
