"The RBOCs also made it very difficult for the CLECs to access the CO. I know a guy who worked for Alcatel on their DSL project who installed DSL equipment in COs for both the RBOCs and CLECs."

What pisses me off is that it is like 1929 when the large banking houses like JP Morgan convinced everyone that it was swamp land in Florida, or Smoot Hawley that was the cause of the depression.

Blamming those people who invested in dotcoms for being stupid WITHOUT acknowledging that a lot of dot coms lost their shirt because the Tele Dereg act was how can I politely put it, a "misnomer", or less politely, a political boondogle, is wrong.

And this is not a political statement. Our Country has a strong interest in protecting the integrity of the capital formation engine. Good ideas should be funded. AND, on the other hand, although most people hate lawyers because they have been brainwashed, bad companies should have the crap sued out of them.

A couple of little suits, without political interference, prevents an ENron. You don't know it, but corporate counsels all over the world read every case and when one little case establishes liability EVERY COMPANY CHANGES.

Government can not solve this problem. They are always after the fact. And there is far too much "campaign contribution money" awash.

If you heard ex chairman levitts story of all the letters he got from all the congressmen who last two years wanted to take it easy on Arthur Andersen, you would know what I mean.
