You have mistaken me for someone who is interested in your reasoning processes. By the logic you propose, it's fine if I want to get married to a water buffalo or a piece of furniture as long as I don't invite any uptight people to the ceremony or screw in public.

(And, by the way, life begins before birth, whether you like it or not.)

Not true, TigerPaw. Why do you think they want marriage? So they can get the benefits thereof, obviously. Health insurance sharing, dual career benefits, and so forth. We all pay, but only in marriage between a man and a woman does responsibility extend beyond the two of them.

You would have to scrape pretty deep to find a harm or even an effect to any outside the marriage.

Hey, TP, you're right.

But you don't go far enough. Why stop with gay marriage? If some lucky guy can convince 6 women to marry him, why not? Why should someone else be allowed to impose their will and beliefs and stop it? Or 8 guys and three gala?

Surely you don't oppose polygamy or polyandry?

And what if some woman wants to marry the fish in her aquarium? Why not?

Surely you're not guilty of anti-mammal prejudice?
