We continue to be joined at the hip, even though having only met once and living 3000 miles away.....

House projects dominate here as well as there. I've been repainting all of the dormers and trim on the house, while working on the bathroom remodel in between. HD is supposed to be delivering several pallets of stone for a retaining wall project that has gone haywire (started as a small planter) and now is going to encompass most of the house as well as duel entryways for the driveways. Lady Di is thinking pavers for the driveway to contrast the stone walls....she is tired of dust from the driveway...PERIOD! (her words, not mine) LOL

About the markets...confusing at times. Not long ago, when the dollar was so strong, our companies were yelling that the dollar was too strong for them to compete in the world markets..thus their poor earnings..now the dollar is too weak? There must be a balance in there somewhere!! <GGGGGGG>

The fed is expected to remain pat at the meeting this week and not thought to take any upward action until Nov. (changed from June) by the fed watchers. As I recall, that was my prediction some time ago. (jeez, I'm smart..LOL) Once again it appears that the fed is behind the curve.

I'm taking a little time off from the market as we may also be gearing up for a western states road trip. The new truck is about ready to be delivered so we thought a nice long trip would test the meddle. Up the coast of CA to CAN, across to Wyoming then down toward NM, then the southern route back to CA. Should take a couple of week with site seeing and whatnot.

Thanks for the call, always enjoy our phone conversations.

Just in case anyone thinks all of the recent events via the media are anything new. I copied this from another thread.

"There is no such thing, at this date of the world’s history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it… The business of the Journalist is to destroy truth; To lie outright; To pervert; To vilify; To fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals for rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and or lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes.

John Swinton, former Chief of Staff, The New York Times, circa 1880

Does'nt sound like things have changed much huh? LOL

"The only change I'm planning in my current portfolio is dropping gold. Gold has gone up in direct converse relationship to the dollar's decline. I like the chances for the dollar to regain some strength better than the odds on the dollar continuing to decline."

Fantastic call! Still calling 'em like you see 'em, eh??

How's CHS? IFLY? HNV?

Haven't seen any follow-up research on them recently.....what's up?

By the way...LOVE the new screen name.
