James,

<< Generally speaking, that comment could be made by ALL radical religionists of ALL stripes and flavors if they just substituted the name of THEIR Holy Book for "the Bible". >>

Yes, people can make any claims they want and they can believe anything they want … regardless of whether their ideas are true or not. I defend their right to do so, but this is exactly why it is so important to study the claims to see if they are true. No one should believe anything just because some guru says it or because it feels good to believe it. Much truth is painful and unpleasant to believe (9/11, for example), but that doesn’t make it any less true! I am not expecting anyone to believe anything that I post simply because I post it (That would be foolishness!), but I challenge people to investigate the claims to determine for themselves whether or not they are true.

The Koran supposedly came down from Heaven direct from Allah and has no human source or errors. Muslims are free to believe that and to make that claim. But is it true? I challenge anyone to read “Winning the War Against Radical Islam” by Dr. Robert A. Morey and then try to defend Islamic teachings as being true. This book clearly demonstrates the problems with Islam as documented in their own writings. The Koran is a very flawed book and the Hadith is an embarrassment to Muslims for some of the ridiculous claims that are made (such as Adam being 90 feet tall, Satan spending the night in people’s upper nasal cavity, playing chess being forbidden, Satan urinating in people’s ears, all yawning is from hell, non-Muslims having seven intestines, etc., etc., etc.). These are claims made in Islam’s “holy” books! People are welcome to believe fables if they want to, but intelligent human beings owe it to themselves to find out what is really true.

In striving for brevity (admittedly not my strongest suit), let me just give one quote from Allah alongside one quote from YHWH, the True and Living God of the Bible:

[5.101] O you who believe! do not put questions about things which if declared to you may trouble you, and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed, they shall be declared to you; Allah pardons this, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.
[5.102] A people before you indeed asked such questions, and then became disbelievers on account of them.

Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (NKJ)

The Bible commands us to question what we are taught and to study to see what is true.

The Koran tells believers to “just believe” because Muslims who seek the truth become “disbelievers” in Islam. Straight from the lips of Allah! That is why Islam enforces the death penalty for Muslims who leave their faith. It IS a deterrent!

Study the Koran and you will know why Muslims must blindly believe their religion.

Study the Bible and you will find that it is true.

<< I could debate just about every sentence of your long post, but my spiritual Path suggests that I should respect and tolerate your viewpoint, and celebrate that AT HEART, we are ONE. >>

My apologies again for the lack of brevity in my last post. I believe that I can give logical and rational support from Scripture for each point I made.

Your spiritual Path suggests that you tolerate all views, and that is fine.

My God and Savior commands me to defend the Truth.

He died on the cross to save people from their sins. I want to help people see the Truth while there is yet time.

If you decide to discuss one or more of the points that I made, I would welcome the discussion. That is how people learn. If not, that is your choice.

Thank you for your reply and your tolerance of my beliefs.

Ken
