You can't blame the French for taking a pro-Arab stance from the increasing political clout of their Arab constituency anymore than you can blame the United States for taking a pro-Israeli stance from the success of the American Jewish lobby. I can blame the French for taking leave of their senses, however. Swallowing absurd 9/11 conspiracy theories (like apologizing for mass murder) involves more than realpolitik; a certain abnegation of one's own parameters of civilization is required as well.
