I missed it, as i would loved to have seen it, but as we remember Stephen Roach was virtually standing alone and being salvoed with scorn and disrespect from the rest of the Street for maintaining there would be a double-dip(it was suggested perhaps Roach was reading our thread:); but, anyway, Stephen Roach later wrote an article "I WAS WRONG!!!!" which of course was an "in your face" sarcasm to Wall Street. Indeed Mr. Roach had the last laugh! Max

Not unexpected, already last year we were talking on this thread about the US consumer being stretched and that double dip will be the shape of the current malaise. As a matter of fact we are pretty close to that magic $40 B in monthly balance of payments deficit, a little ahead of time (I really did not expect us to get that high until the second half this year).
