Hilton seems to be on to something. In the face of massive government efforts to hide the truth from the public, I find his approach imminently sane and reasonable. If we were to try to have the F.I.B. and C.Y.A. investigate themselves, the results would be a predictable whitewash. Congress seems to be getting cowed by the Administration on their hearings. So the courts end up being the only place that the public can seek redress and try to get at the kernel of truth the Bush team are so desperate to hide.
