Not amused, confused. Oxidation of sulphides with heat causes S02 gas. If catalyzed to SO3, it is soluble in water to sulfurous acid. Or soluble in sulfuric acid. Generally SO2 will fall as acid rain which is a weak or sulfurous acid. H2SO3.

Oxidation of pyrite by bacteria, or ground water generates sulfuric acid. H2SO4. Sulfuric acid in water will tend to absorb oxygen and thus is bad for fish.

6 picks?..<vbg>...i'll have to wimp out on this one with the summer doldrums just around the corner..got a few sleepers on the watch list..(roll-backs and/or financings)...nothing worth mentioning at this point.... like TRR.v for the fall rally...has a jv with NRI on a couple of alaskan gold properties plus Tenke is going to drill TNR's Argentine property this fall...and for sixteen cents....what the heck eh?...i find it works best not to get too carried away with the speckies during the summer...snipe a few pennies here and there as the opportunities arise and try not to lose too much of your ass before the fall..;)...hey..btw..love that shaman article!
