But you evade the fact that there are bad guys out there. Let's back up:

You're British Prime Minister. Germany has just invaded Poland. Not many months before, you signed a mutual defense pact with them. What do you do?

You're POTUS. It's December 7, 1941. Japanese warplanes are bombing the US Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. What do you do?
