As you can tell, I'm trading paired positions. The delta between PUTs and the underlying is more important to me than the exact value of $VXN. It's rather quick and simple to get a feel of the evolution of delta on the fly by eye-balling the bids and asks, with the added advantages of less delay and no interference from the bid-ask spread throwing formulae out of whack. I used the term "implied volatility" in my previous post as a simpler way of expressing the observed change in delta.
