John, In the situation you describe, where an SI Admin has taken over responsibility for the thread, why not just modify the code so that the old posts are available for reference purposes, but if someone tries to post a new message, they get a view informing them that the old thread is "dead" and here is the URL for the new thread? You could even redirect them to the new thread header after a few seconds... Just a suggestion, though... KJC
