We now know the goal of the "Homeland Secrecy Agency":

- Be a collection point for all other agencies, with the ability declare any information illegal

- Prevent anyone from blowing the whistle on illegal or unconscionable acts, such as destroying evidence

- Prevent the use of the Freedom of Information Act, nullifying Congress' act that has exposed criminals in government for 30 years.

- Have veto power over inspector general audits and investigations.

That's a pretty tight lid.

If I didn't know better, I'd say it looks like an attempt to avoid any legally-actionable evidence of wrongdoing from anywhere in government to appear in public or in court.

Hopefully they'll drop this nonsense, but I'd love to know who was in the basement of the WH that worked this stuff up.

If this Act goes through, Hell will have to be paid anyway, and either Bush will be out, or whoever goes in will have a mandate to open government.
