Only in the most superficial analysis. There are many examples where the good of the community, or species, or whole Giai world, trumps the needs or wants of an individual. Some of these are well documented on a genetic level (where saving 8 cousins or 2 siblings is a goal worth dying for) and others at a socialogic level.
