I think the world population doubled from 3 to 6 billion in the last 30 years so, by a similar absurd argument, all that gold will have to be spread pretty thin.

But what is relevant is that the economic activity of the East will overtake that of the West (Europe and the Americas) by 2020 --- that's saying something. And, as we know, it's the East where the demand for gold actually is.
