Major China DVD Manufacturer Using 6-Channel, 50W AudioMAX Solution
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2002--Microsemi Corp. (Nasdaq:MSCC - News), a leading manufacturer of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, today announced that its patented AudioMAX® Class D audio amplifier technology has been selected by Synchron Technology Ltd., one of China's largest DVD manufacturers, for five of its new power-on-board DVD players which add 5.1 surround sound capability to traditional DVD functions.
Microsemi's broad line of AudioMAX Class-D amplifier products provide full power audiophile performance with an efficiency that eliminates damaging heat in space-constrained designs like next-generation DVD players and automotive entertainment systems. Peterson, Microsemi president and chief executive officer. "Customers are telling us that our AudioMAX solutions hit a 'sweet spot' of power, exceptional audio performance, and efficiency," he added.
"We believe the combination of high impact surround sound with DVD in a popular-priced home entertainment unit could expand the current DVD market with a whole new segment," Peterson said.
With headquarters in Hong Kong, Synchron Technology is a consumer electronics products division of the Beautiful Holdings Group, an OEM design and manufacturing operation whose customers include Aiwa, Onkyo, Philips, Siemens and Tiger. Its Shenzhen manufacturing facility has an annual capacity of 8 million units.
