At any time corrupt individuals alone or in concert with others can cheat. My expert soccer eyes have seen nothing in the present world cup that come any where near suggesting that cheating in the officials has occurred. Which does not say that none has occured. Soccer is the beautiful game a sport, The world cup is a sporting event.

But cheating does not define what is a sport. If cheating is found out, then the offenders should be punished. In general compensation for the victims who are really only the players is difficult to effect. I would be disappointed, but not pissed.
It's only a sport. The players cheated had the opportunity to play at most a few more games taken from them. Well most are back playing with other teams and another world cup, olympics, and soccer season is going to happen.
